Our Leather Hanging Shelf comes with two screws and anchors for installation into drywall. If you will be installing these into a solid wall or studs, please see below.
Step 1: Before you begin, determine where you'd like the leather straps to sit on the shelves. We recommend placing them at least 2" in from each side of the board, but they can be placed closer together, too.
Step 2: Using a 1/4" drill bit, drill two pilot holes into the drywall and insert the anchors.
Step 3: Loop one of the leather straps and align the holes. Insert the screw through the holes. Note: If the hole in the leather feels snug, you can twist the screw through rather than pushing it.
Step 4: Screw the strap into the anchor, then repeat steps 3 and 4 with the other loop.
Step 5: Place the board through the leather loops and press down. We suggest putting a few books on the shelf to help the board settle into the leather.
INSTALLING INTO STUDS OR SOLID WALLS If you'll be installing a shelf into a stud, use a 9/64" bit to drill a pilot hole and then follow steps 3-5 above. You will not need an anchor. If you are installing into solid walls, you made need a different anchor than what we provide. Your local hardware store should be able to help you out!
PLEASE NOTE: We are not responsible for damage to products during the installation process. However, if you encounter a problem, please contact us and we'll help you work through it to the best of our ability.
